About Jim Camarillo
My journey in the building industry began while growing up in the Camarillo family plastering business, founded by my father in 1957. From a young age, I was made aware of the pitfalls that can occur in construction. This is where I learned the critical importance of keeping buildings dry.

I was recruited to take a position as Technical Applications Consultant at a leading construction chemical company in 1994. I served as a lead technical consultant there for six years. While there, I added to my experiences and was professionally trained in field service and support, contractor training, waterproofing and testing, building codes and warrantable recommendations on large renovation projects. During my 28 years employed at A leading construction chemical company, I conducted onsite technical support on major projects in South America, Canada, Mexico and across the United States.

Accepting a sales position in 2000 with a leading construction chemical company offered me an opportunity to consult and build trust with architectural firms, engineers, general contractors, owners and developers on a daily basis. I have nearly 30 years of experience in consulting on every aspect of the building envelope. CEC aims to offer the industry real solutions that stem from real experiences.

​I have been a member and or affiliated with the following associations, EIMA, AWCI, AIA, ABAA, CSI, Lath & Plaster Technical Committee, Stucco Manufactures Association, Wall and Ceiling Conference and The Technical Services Information Bureau.
